How do you choose what to eat? It seems like there should be a simple answer to this question, shouldn’t there?
The amount of time, money and mental energy spent on answering this question is staggering. The answer, by the way is simple. Eat whatever you want! Yes, I said that you should eat whatever you want!
If you are eating a certain way because someone told you to, or if you are eating a certain way because you believe that you should but you really don’t want to then it’s going to cause stress. That emotional stress will probably ruin many of the benefits that you’re getting from following the “diet” you are on.
Now I didn’t say that you should eat poorly right? I didn’t say that you should eat Pizza, Fast food, Chips, Pastas, or anything that would cause you to bloat, gain weight, or raise your cholesterol. My version of eating what I want is choosing foods that make me feel good and make me feel good about myself. Do I sometimes want fried rice and a slice of pizza? Yes and I eat it, but most of the time I fill my body with veggies and clean proteins because I usually want the way those foods make me feel more than I want the temporary pleasure of some “comfort food”.
